Is there a deadline to join the Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization (CEO)?
There is a deadline for dues, but not for membership. Students can join throughout the fall or spring semester. However, if dues are not paid by the specified deadline, some benefits may be missed. Dues must be PAID by the deadline specified on the “Membership” page of this site in order to have full access to activities like site visits and club meetings. If you cannot pay dues by the deadline, please contact the Treasurer to discuss your situation.
What is the dress code for meetings and other events?
- Business Casual is recommended for club meetings and site visits.
- Business Professional is required for pitch competitions, mock presentations, showcases, and personal interviews with potential investors or partners. Remember, you only get one chance to make a good first impression. If you need business attire, check with your university’s Career Services or Student Success Center in the McCoy building, which may offer a Career Closet where students can borrow professional attire free of charge.
Is a new application required in the spring if I was a member in the fall?
Yes, students are required to submit a new application and pay dues for each semester (fall & spring).
Where do I submit the membership application form?
The membership application process is entirely online. Apply using the survey on the Membership page and follow the instructions for paying dues. No paper applications or cash should be submitted to the organization. Cash will only be accepted at designated times by the Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization or on an individual basis.
What are the membership dues required to join the Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization?
Dues are $25 per semester, payable by the deadline, to become a student member. Payments are collected at the same time you submit your application. Payment methods will be provided on the Membership page. If you need alternative payment methods, please contact our Treasurer via email at esr63@txstate.edu (Parker Kaifesh).
How much is the late fee (for dues), and why is that required?
There are no late fees.
How are membership dues used?
Membership dues are used to cover guest speaker fees, travel expenses for club activities, and other costs such as thank-you gifts for speakers.
How do I confirm my membership?
Once you pay your dues each semester, you will receive an invitation to join the CEO’s Canvas site. Be sure to ACCEPT the invitation to gain access to announcements and events. Please note that it may take a few days after submitting your application and payment for your Canvas membership to be updated.
Is there assigned seating at CEO meetings?
No. Meetings are typically held in a classroom, and seating is open. Please make sure to register your attendance with the code provided at the start of the meeting.
